Last Week in Girls and Boys Basketball

Girls Basketball:

The girls basketball team had their senior night on February 23 and played the Moorhead Spuds. The game was close at the half, with our girls winning, 26-23. The Prowlers extended their lead, and won the game, 55-44. Leading scorers include Tiahna Nicolson and Jenna Tadych, both scoring 15, and Meleah Biermaier contributing 13 points. The girls had a total of 39 rebounds and shot 71% at the freethrow line. The freshman lost, 27-55, and the JV also lost, 28-60. On February 26, the girls will be playing their last regular season game against Perham at the Ralph Engelstad Arena.

Boys Basketball:

On February 20th, boys basketball played their last game in the Brickhouse, playing the Perham Yellowjackets. At the half the scoreboard read 22-24, with the Prowlers down by two. The game went into overtime with the score at 51-51. With only a couple seconds left, Payton Graham made a jump shot, giving the Prowlers a leading score of 59-57. With only 1.9 seconds on the clock, the Yellowjackets took a shot and missed it right off the rim, giving the win to the Prowlers! Payton Graham lead the scoreboard with 23 points, and following him was Brady Hoffard with 13. The freshmen lost, 41-79, and the JV lost as well, 37-54. Boys basketball ended their season losing to Sauk Rapids in the quarterfinals. Their overall record is still an impressive 16 wins and 10 losses.
