Interview With Norskie Players: Michael Johnson, Brendon Bomey, and Jake Eischen

I was given the opportunity to ask questions to three of the Norskies, Michael Johnson, Brendon Bomey, and Jake Eischen.

Q. How old were you when you started playing hockey?

A. 3

Q. Why did you start playing hockey?

A. My uncle was big into hockey and he wanted me to play

Q. Who inspired you to start your hockey career?

A. My uncle

Q. What position do you play?

A. Defense

Q.Who’s your favorite NHL player?

A. Jonathan Toews

Q. What drills would you recommend to other players wanting to improve stick handling?

A. Opposite of what i do

Q. What is your typical practice routine like?

A. Get on the ice, get a good stretch, work hard, and get off the ice

Q. What has been the best moment in your career so far?

A. Becoming a Norskie

Q. What do you find different about playing in the SIJHL than playing high school hockey? A.There is so much more contact.

Q. What do you plan on doing after playing for the norskies?

A. Hopefully playing college somewhere

Name: Brendon Bomay

Q. How old were you when you started playing hockey?

A. 5 years old

Q. Why did you start playing hockey?

A. My dad always wanted to as a kid

Q. Who inspired you to start your hockey career?

A. I was born the night the wings won the cup in 1998 and named after Brendon Shanahan

Q. What position do you play?

A. Forward

Q. Who’s your favorite NHL player?

A. Jamie Benn or Connor Mcdavid

Q. What drills would you recommend to other players wanting to improve stick handling?

A. Repetition, make it muscle memory

Q. What is your typical practice routine like?

A. Fast flow drills to keep the feet moving and create chemistry

Q. What has been the best moment in your career so far?

A. Scoring a hat trick in the first against our biggest rival

Q. What do you find different about playing in the SIJHL than playing high school hockey?

A. The speed and not being able to skate around people

Q. What do you plan on doing after playing for the norskies?

A. Hopefully college hockey

A. My dad

A. Johnny Gaudreau

Q. What drills would you recommend to other players wanting to improve stick handling?

A. Do it a lot, repetition is key

Q. What is your typical practice routine like?

A. Create chemistry by moving fast,going hard,and playing like a game

Q. What has been the best moment in your career so far?

A. Going to the state hockey tournament and placing 3rd

Q. What do you find different about playing in the SIJHL than playing high school hockey?

A. More contact and faster pace
