The Lincoln high school band had their Christmas concert Monday December 5th. The concert was split up into four sections: lab band, jazz band, concert band, and wind ensemble, with a combined group for the final two songs. Something very unique about the band is their lab band section. This section of the concert was made up of students learning their second or sometimes even third instrument. “In some cases,” Mrs. Hahn said, “they have only started learning their instruments at the beginning of this school year.”

Solos for the lab band were performed by Abi Semanko on the trumpet and Brit Aaker on the alto saxophone. Soloists for jazz band included Mariah Iverson on the clarinet, Brock Borchardt on the alto saxophone, and Travis Hawk on the tenor saxophone. There was also a special guest appearance from LHS Alumnus Leah Whittenberg on the drums for several songs. Mrs. Hahn and the combined band ended the night with “Sleigh Ride” by Leroy Anderson, a perennial favorite
